The only real drawback to working with a discount broker is that they will not offer much advice, good or bad, about your decisions.
Do you want to invest in a full service broker? If you are unsure of the right decisions to make regarding your stocks and annuities, you should consider this broker as they will detail each step for you. But, unlike a discount stockbroker, they are paid a straight fee for you, making them at times more costly.
